_11/01/02-The Forensics, The Suspenders, Point Blank, The Ginas, The Rats, No Cash Value, Switch Hitter
[The Domino Room, Bend]
_

I got to this one late and unfortunately missed the first two opening bands. I've heard varying reviews about both, and won't comment on things I haven't heard myself. The sound tonight wasn't too hot. I've been in basements with better sound in fact. This might account for the fact that I wasn't too impressed with the overall feel of this show as I normally would be. I arrived in time to see Point Blank finishing up their set, and they're still sounding better each time I hear them. The Ginas were up next, and I was excited to see them play a full set as last time they played a very short two song one. Their playing sounded all right, but the vocals just sounded off to my ears. I'm hoping it was due to the sound, we'll see next time. Bend faves the Rats were then up, and as usual they sounded good.  I noticed the crowd thin quite a bit after the Rats left the stage, and they missed some of the better bands of the evening: No Cash Value and Switch Hitter. (to be fair it was freaking freezing inside the venue. Nothings funner than watching bands play through the fog of your breath.) NCV put on a great show, you should all check them out on the 29th when they play again. Switch Hitter drove all the way from Boise to play in Bend. And play they did, to a crowd of 13 people. Literally, I counted. This did seem to phase them, and they still played a rocking show in the freezing cold of the room. Overall this was a good line up featuring all of Bends better punk bands, but the poor sound and uncomfortably cold room means that it wasn't as good as it could have been.
