The other night I headed to the show at the Domino room, where it seems some changes had been made to the lineup. Generally when this sort of thing happens it sucks. But tonight was a pleasant
surprise.
Fortune Favors The Brave had been added on the bill in the opening position, and they were much better than I was expecting. Their emocore sound was very well received by the crowd and I suspect we'll be seeing more from them in the months to come. Following them was
One Careless Moment, who seem to have a huge following among the "I am tough because I push you alot" crowd. They put on a good show that almost seemed restrained compared to some of their other performances.
I'd seen the guys from EPD wandering around the venue that night, and I was under the impression that they'd simply driven over to support Countdown. Then I saw them setting up their gear and I shuddered a tiny bit as the last few times I've seen them really wasn't impressive at all. EPD recently changed their name to
This Days End, and somehow got way better in the process. They seemed to really have pulled together and gotten down where they want to go with their sound. I was impressed.
Countdown to Life was the headliner, and what can I say that I haven't said before? They rocked it. Their gear was set up on the floor and the crowd was incredibly into it. The large amount of people who knew the lyrics to their songs and screamed along really helped the energy explode in the room. I doubt that anyone was disappointed in CTL this evening, unless it was by their short set. Countdown To Life manages not only to rock, but they also retain the title of "Huggiest band ever."
