Central Oregon Venues
The Domino Room~51 NW Greenwood Ave Bend OR 97701
This place has become THE
venue for shows in the Central Oregon area. It's not a bad venue, but certainly
not the best. Located downtown it's within easy walking distance of a multitude
of bars for the over 21 crowd. The door for this particular venue is kind of
hard to find, so just look for the crowd of kids outside smoking and trying to
look cool. The Domino Room is located right next to the next venue-the Midtown
roller rink.
The Sons of Norway Hall~549 NW Harmon st, Bend, OR 97701
This is an old venue that has only recently started
allowing promoters to put on shows again. With any luck the crowds will respect
the venue and we'll continue to see shows happen here more and more often. AFI
played here years ago, how about that?
The Midtown~51 NW Greenwood Ave Bend OR 97701
OK, this is just the roller rink. Located next to
the Domino Room, the Midtown generally only has shows that are going to be too
big for the Domino Room to hold. The shows here vary wildly in how they sound
due to the shape of the room. The first show I ever saw was here years ago: Floater
and the Cherry Poppin' Daddies.
Reed Pub~1148 SE Centennial Bend OR 97701 (off of Reed Market Road)
This is a relatively recent addition to the venues in Bend. They've hosted a
number of punk shows here. Its a fairly small bar, but alot of fun.
Players Bar & Grill
This is a bar. Of course that means 21+ shows only.
The stage area is very, very tiny. The "dance floor" area is maybe 12
feet long by 18 wide. But they have some good bands rolling through, and the bar
staff has always been really friendly towards me. Most of the shows I've seen
here have sounded really great, perhaps it's due to the small size of the place.
Boys & Girls Club (Bend)~500 Nw Wall St Bend
OR 97701
This is the Bend branch of the Boys & Girls
club. It's WAY too big for most shows that are held here.
The Metal Shop (Madras)~One mile south of Madras????
I've been told this is an actual metal shop? Another
place I've never been too. They tend to have JUST metal shows at this venue, and
I'm not a huge metal fan. So far there hasn't been a band I'm into seeing enough
to make the drive up to Madras. Plus I know EMT's up there, and I have
nightmares of getting into an auto accident and them doing bad things to me.
*I used to have a big list of venues that used to exist in town, that'd been
shut down for one reason or another. But the list got to be too big, and kinda
depressing to look at, so I removed it.*
